The June 15 news article “3 campaign fundraisers get prime envoy roles” raised questions about the number of ambassadorial posts going to political appointees, as opposed to career diplomats. But while the article mentioned that two career officers were named to posts in Ethiopia and Brazil, it did not bother to provide their names, while going on at length about the political appointees. Does The Post, too, think that career diplomats are not very important?
