Regarding the Jan. 30 front-page article “Probe focuses on D.C. firehouse”:

I fear that the D.C. fire department has gotten so bogged down in mindless bureaucracy that if a fire started in a firehouse, the unit based there would not begin to put out the fire until dispatched by 911. Even then, I’m convinced that 911 would send the unit to the wrong address.
