I was struck by the April 18 letters about the Boston Marathon bombing. Letter writers Jeff Epton, Catherine Weckenmen, Mike Kandel and Douglas MacKinnondemonstrated a collective wisdom that shows our thinking about terrorism has matured since the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001. There was no wide-eyed fear-mongering nor bloodlust anger — primary ingredients for mob hysteria. Instead, their calls for calm common sense and steadfast resolve demonstrate that we have gained a communal courage that will see us through the challenging years ahead.
