On June 15 I opened The Post to find the article “Big bites for bragging rights,” about a burger-eating contest, atop the front page of the Metro section. Has The Post not heard that there is an obesity epidemic in the United States and that millions of people go hungry every day and would appreciate just one little slider on their dinner plates? It would be helpful if The Post allocated more of its journalists’ time to report on real news or provide news analysis. Reporting on eating contests falls into neither category.
