Regarding the otherwise fair review of the new Bon Jovi album [“Bon Jovi, grown up and ready for a risk,” Style, March 12], I can’t help but comment on its reference to Bruce Springsteen.

The review’s misguided attempt to explain Jon Bon Jovi’s elevated activist status used, as one example, his performance at the recent 12/12/12 charity concert, during which “the mighty Bruce would be reduced to a prop, a supporting player in the Jon Bon Jovi show.” Not mentioning that Bon Jovi joined Springsteen and the E Street Band for a song at the start of the benefit came off as serious disrespect for one of the leading artists of our generation. Any self-respecting Springsteen fan would be offended by the choice of words.
