Tom Toles’s June 24 cartoon presented all one needs to know about the lack of management and supervision of the Washington subway system. Our subway system is a magnificent asset and, with time, will become an even greater one. But the failure of the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority board and senior management to repair the emergency intercoms shows the most flagrant disregard for the safety of Metro riders.
