When I lived in Washington 10 years ago, I thought it was a great place to live, and last week while vacationing in the District, I was reminded of that.
During my trip, I lost my electronic notebook, a Samsung tablet. I figured I left it on a park bench north of the White House and returned, thinking there was no way I would find it.
I came upon U.S. Park Police Officer William Yu and asked him about my notebook. He asked me what I would do if he had it, and I replied, “Give a big thank you.” He did indeed have the notebook. On returning to Iowa, I discovered two phone messages from the person who found the notebook and turned it in.
Thanks again to two great people in Washington.
