Regarding the Nov. 15 front-page article “HOT wheels: The road to a 21st-century Beltway”:

In light of all the excitement over Virginia’s new high-occupancy toll lanes, I’d like to speak for the commuters who have experienced so much construction-related traffic congestion for the past few years. It has been brutal dealing with reduced numbers of lanes, narrowed lanes, closures extending into rush hour and so many other hassles while the new lanes were being constructed for those willing to pay to drive in “first class.”

While I don’t intend to partake of the lanes, I do look forward to driving to and from work once again under the normal, toll-free level of aggravation.
