Regarding Fred Hiatt’s Nov. 30 op-ed, “Rubio’s politics of destruction”:

If there were an Olympic medal for hypocrisy, it should be awarded no contest to senators such as Tom Cotton (R-Ark.), Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) and John Cornyn (R-Tex.). After approving time and again President Trump’s nominees who were unqualified and even out to undermine the missions of their agencies, these senators should have no grounds for attacking President-elect Joe Biden’s picks, who happen to be extremely competent and well-qualified for their appointments.

These senators’ attacks demonstrate their craven attempt to undermine democratically elected leaders. It’s frankly disgusting. I hope there are Republican senators who have the decency to oppose these attacks and in good faith consider these nominations on their merits.
