Opinion No one should suffer the poor conditions of the D.C. jail

The conditions described in the Oct. 22 editorial “Jan. 6 rioters decry poor jail conditions” highlight a real moral failure of our country: a poor and dysfunctional prison and jail system. Those incarcerated have an absolute right to livable conditions. Similarly, corrections officers have a right to decent working conditions.
