Kathleen Parker hit the nail on the head in her July 15 op-ed about our cancel culture, “A victory for the wrongthink police.”

It is not the duty of news media to make people feel safe but to expose them to contrary viewpoints and give them the opportunity to rebut those whose opinions offend them.

I found Sen. Tom Cotton’s (R-Ark.) essay in the New York Times on forcefully quelling peaceful demonstrations that devolve into rioting or looting offensive. I was looking forward to reading a countervailing argument in the Times (or The Post). Alas, instead of confronting disagreeable opinions, the poor dears ran into their safe-space bubbles.
