David Ignatius’s June 26 op-ed, “We’re unprepared for a major cyber crisis,” reminded me of my reaction when the president proposed a U.S. Space Force: That’s crazy, what we need is a U.S. Cyber Force. There may be challenges in space, but they are not as important as the potential attacks on America from cyberspace.

Our ability to deal with cyber challenges, as Mr. Ignatius noted, is disorganized and lacking in both leadership and resources. Establishment of a well-funded, focused Department of Cyberspace is overdue. Are Mr. Ignatius and I acting like Chicken Little here?
