I am just sick at reading about Brendan Eich’s resignation from Mozilla and the reason behind it [“Mozilla CEO resigns after criticism on gay marriage,” news article, April 4]. Mr. Eich wasn’t intolerant. He doesn’t agree with gay marriage, true, but he didn’t advocate hatred, violence or even discrimination. Let us not forget that disallowing gay marriage is not discrimination; it amounts to retaining the longstanding legal definition of marriage and not giving special privilege. Have we sunk so low that a person doesn’t have a right to his free speech and opinions? So much for tolerance.
