Since when did children not play cops and robbers [“School suspends boy, 6, for 1 day,” Metro, Jan. 3]? In my youth, we played politically incorrect cowboys and Indians, while wearing appropriate feather headdresses and clothing. My husband played World War II, complete with toy bombs, guns and tiny soldiers, etc., but abandoned it all at adolescence. We are both pacifists and, as such, eschew gun ownership in all cases, with perhaps an exception for hunters who eat the meat from the animals they kill (all in moderation).

To try to suspend a “skinny and meek” kid who meant no harm and was just playing is abominable politically correct baloney. Should colorful squirt guns be abolished as well?
