In “Where baby news belongs” [Free for All, July 27], a reader complained about the news of Britain’s royal baby being on the front page [“ ‘It’s a boy’ goes round the world,” July 23]. He should cool it. The other front-page stories that day were about the George Zimmerman verdict, the power of super PACs, prison attacks in Iraq and a Chesapeake Bay Bridge crash.

The next day, when a picture of the royal family directed readers inside the paper, we were treated to items about Anthony Weiner’s lewd messages, racial divides in South Africaand the Virginia governor’s scandal. I welcome a bit of happy news once in a while.
