As a Scout troop committee member, I agree with Duane M. Tollaksen’s assertion [“The Scouts’ code is the Scouts’ business,” letters, May 16] that any person (Scout or adult) involved with the Boy Scouts of America should live by the Scout Oath and Law. However, one’s sexual orientation does not automatically exclude one from being able to live by those standards. As with one’s religious faith, the Scouts should not discriminate with regard to one’s sexual orientation.
