Thanks for the April 21 front-page article “ Nats’ 10th man: A well-manicured field ,” about John Turnour, head groundskeeper for the Washington Nationals. How refreshing to read a Page 1 story about something other than scandal, crime and political gamesmanship. It makes one wonder how many other behind-the-scene folks toil anonymously at monuments, museums and memorials to keep Washington the visual treasure that it is.

Three cheers for Mr. Turnour and all his fellow “unsung heroes.”
