Regarding Susanne Humphrey’s April 25 letter [“A harmful ambulance fee”]:

Yes, uninsured nonresidents should have to pay for ambulance services. Just because you don’t have insurance doesn’t mean ambulance service should not be paid for. There is such a thing as writing a check, pulling out a credit card or setting up a payment plan to cover your responsibilities. If you are not contributing tax dollars to pay for services and don’t arrange for insurance coverage, don’t expect somebody else to pay your bills.
