Regarding the Jan. 18 front-page stories “Armstrong confesses to doping” and “A fake girlfriend and a credulous Web”:

I’ll tell you what’s wrong with sports: money. Let’s put our money where it’s needed. We should value and properly pay those who teach our young and nurse our sick and dying.

Take sports back to where it belongs, to the back lot as personal exercise and periodic enjoyment, and end it as a source of overpaid careers for couch potatoes to obsess over.
