(Scott Stantis/Andrews McMeel for UFS)

Scott Stantis has an annoying habit of putting sneaky little political digs into his comic strip “Prickly City,” followed by a series of strips in which the characters wonder why we can’t all just get along.

In his July 26 strip, he portrayed House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) in an unflattering caricature and told people to “vote Republican.” No reference to issues, values or anything of substance. Just a dog-whistle “You know why” that let people fill in the blanks any way they wanted. He ran similar “vote Democrat” and “vote Libertarian” strips over the next two days, but they only partially blunted the bombshell effect of that first strip.

I would recommend that The Post stop running his strip, but that would only prove to Stantis that the gol’-danged lib’rul media was out to get him. If he really wonders why we can’t all just get along, maybe he should start reading his own comic strip.
