Unless you read the May 8 news article “Hawking moves up apocalypse date” to the bitter end, you would think the main causes for humans needing to colonize a new planet were global warming and population explosion. But physicist Stephen Hawking’s “most explicit warnings have revolved around the potential threat posed by artificial intelligence.”
