As I glanced at the July 9 Metro section of The Post, I was completely awed by the photograph of Anam Khatib of Eleanor Roosevelt High School. Like an “old master” portrait painter, photographer Marvin Joseph captured the beauty and essence of Khatib. The soft lighting on her face, complemented by similar lighting on her hand, was exquisitely composed and serene.

The three student portraits by Joseph on the following pagewere also of outstanding quality. I commend Joseph for his beautiful portraits and The Post for publishing them. I would jump at the chance to see more of his work.
