Regarding the March 13 front-page article “Republicans in House find ‘no evidence of collusion’ ”:

Rep. K. Michael Conaway (R-Tex.), without consulting any of the Democratic members of the House Intelligence Committee, declared “no collusion.” Really? Special counsel Robert S. Mueller III apparently has evidence that Erik Prince lied to the committee about a secret meeting in the Seychelles to set up a back channel with Russia [“Mueller probing Seychelles meeting,” front page, March 8]. The House Intelligence Committee doesn’t want to subpoena him and make him tell his story again, under oath, to see if he might say something different?

The Republicans may not be able to see collusion with the Russians, but there is obvious collusion between the Republican members of this committee and the White House.

Why are these members of Congress going out of their way to lie, obfuscate, distract and defend untenable positions already refuted by corroborated facts? Why are they colluding with the White House instead of upholding their oath to defend the Constitution? Why do they fear the truth coming out? How have they been compromised?

Nothing to see here. Haven’t heard a thing. Not one word against Russia in defense of our country. Are we to believe they can be less informed than the ordinary citizen who reads the news?
