The May 6 editorial “Mobilizing in Maryland for a dream,” about Maryland’s “Dream Act,” concluded by saying that it makes no sense for Maryland to educate undocumented students through high school and then “deny them a realistic shot at higher education.” That’s absurd. The referendum on November’s ballot isn’t about keeping undocumented people out of college; it’s about not requiring Maryland’s taxpayers to subsidize their lives.

I’m tired of the fact that Maryland’s elected government plays me for a sucker: I have to play by the rules, but neither undocumented students nor the people who brought them here have to do likewise.
