In their look at health-care costs [“Realism on health costs,” op-ed, April 22], Drew Altman and Larry Levitt wrote, “Increases in Medicare payments to insurance companies, hospitals and other health-care providers are getting trimmed.” How peculiar that the authors characterized insurance companies as health-care providers while failing to mention physicians or, indeed, make any mention of physicians and that payments to them are being “trimmed” dramatically.

Does this say something about the authors’ view of the health-care “industry” these days?
