I was shocked and disappointed to grab the Food section — usually a safe bet between distressing headlines — and find a drink recipe referred to more than once as a “pimped-out Gin and Tonic” [“The measure of a man: His limits,” June 19]. If that’s a sorry attempt to reach a particular audience with youthful slang, it’s just not worth it. There are a lot of adjectives in the dictionary that don’t glorify sexual violence and trafficking.

I’ve been a Post reader for about as long as I’ve been an advocate for gender equality (in other words, since I learned to read), and sloppy editorial oversight like this makes me second-guess the integrity of my news source.
