Regarding the Oct. 10 Sports article “Snyder backs Redskins name in letter to fans”:

I, along with my family, have been a Washington football fan since my late husband introduced me to the sport and the team in the early 1970s. I have cheered them through good times and bad, good players and bad, good coaches and bad, and I remain as true and loyal a fan today as I was in the ’70s. I sing the team’s song loudly and can be a Monday morning quarterback with the best of them.

And I can still be a fan and love my team with a new name. Changing a name or changing a uniform will not change the spirit of the fans in the stadium, will not change the players as they try to bring us a win. If the name Redskins offends people, why not change it?
