Although being of a different political persuasion, I have long read and respected George F. Will’s opinions. That is why I am so saddened by his extraordinarily bitter Thanksgiving Day column, “For this, we give thanks” [op-ed, Nov. 23]. On this annual opportunity to count our blessings, Will chose instead to rail against Michigan teachers, Obama voters, a food columnist, the mayor of New York, a Pennsylvania township, a Chicago alderman, a Brazilian notary, Al Gore, “climate-change prophets,” “Orwellian school districts,” France, Amtrak and the cities of North Haven, Conn., Houston and Los Angeles. Some serious introspection is in order.
