Regarding the May 29 Metro story “Paucity of cars on ICC is praised, criticized”:

Why not get drivers hooked on using the Intercounty Connector first? Reduce the rates so drivers can know how much of a timesaver this road can be.

It seems a crime (highway robbery, in fact!), having built this much-studied, multibillion-dollar solution to alleviate congestion in our area, to see it underutilized while we wait for people to find it habit-forming.

When the tolls were waived initially at the ICC grand opening, Bowie Mill Road was practically a sleepy county road as opposed to the major commuter artery it is now forced to be. My house backs up to Bowie Mill, and something was missing during that brief time — car and truck noise from the traffic.
