Regarding Dana Milbank’s Aug. 17 Sunday Opinion column, “A fitting coda to a dozen years of war”:

As the Islamic State plans to attack the United States, we need not ask about the implosion in Libya or even wonder what Afghanistan will become after another of President Obama’s “declare victory and run away on schedule” exercises.

Even if Mr. Obama’s answer to Russian President Vladimir Putin remains a company of airborne soldiers and a dozen F-16s, can anyone pretend this is peace or calculated to prevent yet another round of Central European wars?

Bad taste is an understatement for partisan use of a brave soldier’s funeral.
