The May 27 Outlook commentary “D.C. has boomed” pointed out the impending shortage of playgrounds in some vibrant neighborhoods of the District, including Mount Vernon Triangle. Recently, a developer announced a proposal for placing farms atop new buildings that would sprout in the air rights space above Interstate 395 [“Developer courting Georgetown” news article, April 30]. Wouldn’t playgrounds be great up there instead? They would be mostly green and would have a great positive impact on the Mount Vernon Triangle neighborhood.
