The writers of The Reliable Source [“Not the Who, but the why,” Style, Oct. 31] obviously do not understand why the Who’s Roger Daltrey performing “Won’t Get Fooled Again” was fitting for the dedication of the bust of Winston Churchill on Capitol Hill. They should listen carefully to the lyrics.
Churchill was not fooled again, as Neville Chamberlain had been in seeking to appease the Nazis. The same cannot be said under the current political climate in Washington, where voters and lawmakers alike are fooled again and again on issue after issue. How deliciously appropriate for this performance to take place less than two weeks after the latest government shutdown ended.
