More than half the public thinks the problem of concussions in the NFL needs to be dealt with, according to the survey. Still, nearly 9 in 10 fans say reports about head injuries will not make much difference in their plans to watch games this fall.
This Washington Post poll was conducted by telephone May 31 to June 3, 2012, among a random national sample of 1,012 adults, including 448 football fans, among landline and cell phone-only respondents. Results for the full sample have a 3.5 point error margin, and 5.5 points for results among football fans. Sampling, data collection and tabulation by PSRAI of Princeton, New Jersey.
