Over than one in five incorrectly believe HIV can be transmitted by sharing a drinking glass. Low sense of risk named as biggest reason for not getting tested.
This Washington Post-Kaiser Family Foundation poll was conducted by telephone June 11 to 24, 2012, among a random national sample of 1,524 adults ages 18 and older. Interviews were conducted on conventional and cellular telephones, and carried out in English and Spanish by Princeton Survey Research Associates International of Princeton, N.J. The margin of sampling error is plus or minus three percentage points for the overall results. Error margins are larger for subgroups, and five points for questions asked of half of respondents.
