Simple, and an excellent way to showcase fine rum. The trick is to stir everything after you squeeze the lime wedge in, not before.
Also, be sure to use an 8- to 10-ounce highball glass, not a Collins glass, which typically holds 12 to-- ounces.
- 2 ounces aged rum, such as Flor de Caña Grand Reserve 7 Year Old or Mount Gay Eclipse
- 3 ounces chilled tonic water
- 1 lime wedge
Fill the glass with ice. Add the rum and tonic water, then squeeze the lime wedge into the drink and drop it in. Stir well.
