This puckery, potent cocktail is like a New York Sour, but with the addition of Domaine de Canton ginger liqueur and bitters. Alexandra Bookless calls for one dash each of Angostura and Fee Brothers old-fashioned bitters. Feel free to use two dashes of just Angostura if that's all you have.

Servings: 1
  • Ice
  • 1 1/2 ounces rye whiskey
  • 1 1/2 ounces ginger liqueur, preferably Domaine de Canton
  • 3/4 ounce freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 1 dash Angostura bitters
  • 1 dash Fee Brothers old-fashioned bitters
  • 1 twist lemon peel


Fill a cocktail shaker halfway with ice. Add the rye whiskey, ginger liqueur, lemon juice and both bitters. Shake well, then double-strain into a chilled cocktail (martini) glass. Garnish with the lemon peel twist.
