David Bruns is the executive producer for original video at The Washington Post. David oversees the video journalist team charged with producing enterprise and investigative features, as well as responding to major national and international breaking news events.
David joined The Post in October 2015 from the Associated Press, where he was video supervisor. At the AP, David helped lead video coverage of some of the largest stories across the United States, including the 2008 and 2012 presidential elections, various Olympic games, the 2008 economic crisis, and the 2010 Haiti earthquake. He also had editorial oversight over several of the AP’s digital platforms and helped maintain video feeds to the AP’s global television clients.
Prior to the AP, David was a news producer at KCRA-TV in Sacramento for seven years. David began his career in print, freelancing for a number of Northern California publications including the Davis Enterprise, the Daily Democrat in Woodland and the Sacramento News & Review.
