Helena Andrews-Dyer is a reporter on The Washington Post's pop culture team. Before that, she was a columnist for the Reliable Source for several years, writing about the intersection of pop culture and politics. Before joining The Post, Andrews-Dyer was a contributing editor and writer at xoJane, a digital women’s magazine. She also previously wrote the “Single Minded” column for The Root, a division of The Post. "Scandal" creator Shonda Rhimes optioned Andrews-Dyer's first book, a collection of essays entitled "Bitch is the New Black," as a feature film for Fox Searchlight Pictures.
