Mitch Rubin joined The Washington Post's Features department as deputy in June 2014. In this role, he helps to manage the department's overall digital strategy and how best to implement that strategy on a team-by-team basis. The teams that make up Features are pop culture, fine arts, lifestyle, Washington Post Magazine, general assignment, books, travel, Weekend/Going Out Guide, comics, games and crosswords. Rubin came to The Post in 1997 as a part-time news aide and high school and college sports freelance reporter. He became a page designer in the sports department in 2000, and was promoted to Sports Projects editor in 2009, Sports Innovations editor in 2010 and Sports Production Editor in 2012 before moving to the Features department in 2014. He built and led development teams for Voraciously.com, AllMetSports.com and Reachforthewall.com.
