Reem Akkad is senior producer for the original video team at The Washington Post. She helps lead a team of 10 video journalists who film, produce and edit short- and medium-form pieces as well as long-form multimedia projects. Akkad works closely with editors across the newsroom to conceive and create innovative storytelling with in-depth journalism and emotive video. She also is often the lead field producer during live shows covering major events such as the presidential election, inauguration and protests. Akkad joined The Post in 2016 after nearly a decade with Al Jazeera English and six years at ABC News.
