Mueller: ‘The report is my testimony’
On Wednesday, special counsel Robert S. Mueller III announced he was resigning from the Justice Department and reiterated the findings of his investigation: “We chose those words carefully, and the work speaks for itself, and the report is my testimony.”
Post investigative reporter Rosalind S. Helderman speaks with host Martine Powers about the significance and timing of Mueller’s appearance, his first public remarks since the report was released last month.

Louisiana’s ‘fetal heartbeat bill’
The deep red state of Louisiana may be the next state to pass a ‘heartbeat bill’ to ban abortion at about six weeks into the fetus’s development.
It is the latest in a string of states to consider similar legislation. But unlike those states, Louisiana’s governor is a Democrat.
Post national reporter Reis Thebault says that on a national level, the Democratic Party has sought a united front against the barrage of bills, and many view Gov. John Bel Edwards’s support for Louisiana’s proposed legislation as the ultimate betrayal to their party’s cause — another broadside to abortion rights just as conservatives draw closer to upending Roe v. Wade.

For the first time, the U.S. Navy recognizes that unidentified flying objects exist — and even though that is not necessarily the same as recognizing extraterrestrial life, explains Tufts University professor Daniel W. Drezner, it’s not something Earthlings should rule out.
