A deeper look at the Mueller report
A redacted version of the special counsel’s report was released Thursday, and there’s still a lot to be learned about the methods Robert Mueller used to investigate whether there was cooperation between the Trump campaign and Russia in the 2016 election.

Investigative political reporter Rosalind S. Helderman says you can learn a lot from the footnotes.

“You can get a really strong sense of kind of all the things they did, all the rabbit holes they went down,” Helderman says. From looking closely at what they were investigating, right up until they concluded their work, Helderman says you get a sense for how hard they pushed to get to the bottom of the unusual connections between Trump’s campaign and Russia.
