On being “Naturally Tan”
Tan France, the fashion expert on Netflix’s “Queer Eye,” has a new memoir out called “Naturally Tan.” In it, he explores what it means to grow up brown, Muslim and gay in a small British town.

While there are a lot of stories about how “brown heritage is so hard,” France says, “the funny thing is: I don’t think there’s enough of those stories. Gay issues and LGBTQ issues are such a focus right now, but that shouldn’t negate any other concern any other issue there might be, and one of them is that people aren’t as willing to hear stories of people of color.”
