Trump did ask followers to dig up Machado “sex tape”

Donald Trump denied that he encouraged people to seek out a supposed “sex tape” involving former Miss Universe Alicia Machado. But that’s exactly what he did.

At 5:30 a.m. on Sept. 30, sent out this tweet:

“Did Crooked Hillary help disgusting (check out sex tape and past) Alicia M become a U.S. citizen so she could use her in the debate?”

In response to a question for moderator Anderson Cooper, Trump denied that he had done so. Hillary Clinton brought up Machado during the first presidential debate. Machado has accused Trump of making demeaning comments about her weight and ethnicity when Trump owned the Miss Universe competition.

Trump maintains that Machado is “no angel.” No sex tape has surfaced since Trump sent out the late-night tweet.
