Protesters block hallway outside McConnell’s office

A group of protesters is blocking the hallway outside Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell’s (R-Ky.) office on Capitol Hill in a demonstration against the GOP health-care bill.

The sit-in was organized by ADAPT, which advocates for people with disabilities and brought several dozen protesters to Capitol Hill on Thursday.

As Capitol Police conferred about what to do, the protesters chanted: “No cuts to Medicaid — save our liberty!” In some cases, police officers physically moved protesters. It was not immediately clear if arrests were made.

A previous version incorrectly identified the group that organized the protest and brought demonstrators to Capitol Hill. It was ADAPT, not the Arc.
