Without evidence or explanation, Trump accuses CNN of airing polls meant to suppress the vote

President Trump took fresh aim at favorite target on the eve of the midterm elections: CNN.

In a tweet, the president, without evidence or explanation, accused the network of airing “Fake Suppression Polls” and engaging in “false rhetoric.”

“We are lucky CNN’s ratings are so low,” Trump said in the tweet, in which he urged supporters to vote and touted the strength of the economy.

Trump has repeatedly derided the media but often singles out CNN for additional scorn.

The network is currently refusing to air a television ad by Trump’s campaign committee that focus on a migrant caravan making its way toward the U.S. border. In a statement, CNN said it considered the ad “racist.”
