Voters in more than half of the states will need to register before Election Day to cast a ballot in the 2022 midterm elections. The Post has compiled this list of registration deadlines to help you participate.

The earliest deadline in any state to register to vote in the Nov. 8 general election is Oct. 9. About 20 states allow voters to both register and vote on Election Day while the rest halt registration sometime in the weeks or days prior.

Some states have different registration deadlines depending on whether you plan to register online, by mail or in person. The deadlines on this page represent the latest possible deadline, but you can find more detailed information on your state’s registration process using the links below.
