Heading into Election Day, Democrats and Republicans are locked in a fierce fight for control of the Senate, with a handful of races that could tip control of the chamber. Former president Donald Trump, in one key battleground state Monday night, urged voters to back J.D. Vance in his tight race in Ohio against Rep. Tim Ryan (D). “If you want to save your rights and liberties, you have to start by dealing a humiliating rebuke to the radical left in this election,” Trump said. At least one Trump ally, Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.), urged Trump to announce a 2024 White House bid while campaigning in Ohio. While the now-evenly divided Senate remains in play, Republicans are heavily favored to win the House in Tuesday’s elections.
