Americans endorse diplomacy for the Syria situation

The prospect of missile strikes against Syria for its alleged use of chemical weapons found little public support. But an alternative diplomatic solution is widely popular, even though there is little confidence that Syria will comply. This Washington Post-ABC News poll was conducted by telephone Sept. 12-15, among a random sample of 1,004 adults. Interviews were conducted in English and Spanish on land-lines and mobile phones. The results have a margin of sampling error of plus or minus four percentage points.
