Donald Trump has made a huge move in July, leading the GOP presidential field by a wider margin than any other candidate in Post-ABC polls to this point. But it may not last. Most Republicans say he does not represent the party's values and most of the public say they definitely would not vote for him in the general election.
Source: This Washington Post-ABC News poll was conducted by telephone July 16-19, among a random sample of 1,002 adults. Interviews were conducted in English and Spanish on landlines and cellphones. Overall results have a margin of sampling error of plus or minus 3.5 percentage points; the error margin is 6.5 points among the samples of 341 registered Republicans and GOP-leaning independents and six points among the sample of 357 registered Democrats and Democratic-leaning independents.
